LUMiSizerParticle Size Analyzer

SHARE

Centrifugation was one of the earliest techniques to measure the particle size of nano and micron-sized dispersions. The LUMiSizer has taken this original particle sizing technique to a new level regarding accuracy, capability, and user-friendliness. The LUMiSizer is a particle size and dispersion stability analyzer based on analytical centrifugation.

With the LUMiSizer, you can measure particle size from nano-sized to micron-sized particles. And you can acquire particle size distributions at high concentrations.

The STEP-Technology analyzes the whole sample from top to bottom you obtain the correct particle size distribution.

It means the STEP-Technology identifies particles based on their scattering profile and translational velocity across the sample.

This gives you a higher particle size distribution resolution than traditional light-based scattering (laser diffraction) or intensity fluctuations techniques (dynamic light scattering), which analyze only one point in your sample.

You can perform particle sizing at high concentrations and work with non-Newtonian and non-aqueous dispersions.

The LUMiSizer allows you to measure the following:

  • particle size
  • emulsion and suspension stability directly
  • particle sedimentation and creaming velocity distributions
  • all physicochemical stability phenomena (creaming, sedimentation, flocculation, aggregation, coalescence, coagulation, phase separation, phase inversion, Ostwald ripening, syneresis)
  • shelf-life calculation and prediction
  • sediment caking, and re-dispersibility
  • filtration and filter-fouling
  • Hansen solubility/dispersibility parameters
  • Magnetic strength and magnetization of particles and dispersions

We named it a Dispersion Analyzer because it allows you to analyze all aspects of your dispersion characteristics and run up to 12 samples simultaneously.

Does this mean the LUMiSizer® can do everything, work for any application underneath the sun, and is better than any other tool?

No, of course not, but for the correct application, the LUMiSizer works magic.
