The odor flap of the GVK series is used to restrain annoying odors of manholes of the diameter DN 600, DN 625 resp. DN 800. It is applied where the use of manhole biofilters is impossible because of lack of space. Furthermore the insertion of the odor flaps of the GVK series is a very cheap and effective solution for the retention of odors from the sewer system. Entering water from the surface follows the hopper to a central drain pipe which has a flap with a counterweight at the bottom. This flap opens automatically in case of water standing in the pipe and so leads the drain water into the sewer system below. The ventilation of the sewer systems keeps working if the odor flaps are used in combination with manhole biofilters along the sewer system.
