ABCO Water designs and manufactures a range of fully customisable Media Filtration plants, all of which are engineered using advanced 3D computer modelling and process design software. Equipment and pre and post treatment is selected based on both raw water quality and treated water quality requirements.
Media filtration (MF) is a process used to remove suspended solids and other impurities from water or other fluids by passing them through a filter medium. This filtration method relies on the physical barrier properties of the filter media to separate particles from the fluid. The typical degree of filtration is 2-5 micron depending on media selection.
ABCO Water’s Media Filtration (MF) plants are used for reducing Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and turbidity, colour and organics. MF plants can be either stand-alone or as part of a complete treatment system as pre or post treatment to other technologies. Various types of filter media are used depending on the application and the specific impurities being targeted. Common media include sand, gravel, anthracite, glass, activated carbon, and multimedia filters consisting of layers of different media.
