HydroMetMeteorology & Hydrology System

SHARE

The experience GEONICA has gained since 1974 in the design and manufacture of Remote Environmental Data Measuring and Transmission Stations, together with the great developments in telematic communications and the Internet, has enabled us to develop a Measuring, Transmission and Diffusion System for Meteorological and Hydrological Data, and any other environmental parameter, in quasi-real time with «universal» coverage, with no more limitations than those imposed by the determinants for accessing the Internet. The information is transmitted from the remote automatic measuring stations type METEODATA/HYDRODATA 3000C to a Central Station in which is allocated the GEONICA`s WEBTRANS Platform. This Platform allows Universal data access via INTERNET to all external users or customers who contract this efficient data service.

So, this Platform receives all the data, processes it appropriately and then makes it accessible to the authorised external users, also enabling all the information received to be stored for later statistical studies.

Climatology is also a very important aspect as a determinant in all human activities in Industry, Tourism, Sport, etc. Likewise, meteorological information is also of great interest for countless scientific applications, such as the study of the climate change, desertification, alternative wind energies and solar radiation, the diffusion of contaminants into the atmosphere, etc., without forgetting other applications related to civil protection, as in the case of floods, forest fires, etc.

The availability of hydrological data, such as the data related to river volumes and water levels, status of reservoirs, water quality, etc., is also very valuable for the correct management of these resources.

Other sectors, such as seaports (marinas and commercial ports); Traffic and Safety on roads and railway lines; Leisure, Tourism and Sports; Mining and Industry; etc. are greatly affected by environmental conditions, therefore, the measuring of these conditions is a determinant in the decision making process.
