Model DOC Series -Automatic Activated Carbon Filtration Systems
Activated Carbon: They are usually organic based coals activated particularly by burning coconut under 800°C vapour in the absence of smoke. Activated carbon removes smell, taste and color problems caused by organic substances. It adsorbes substances like chlorine, chlorine compounds, detergent, petroleum, industrial wastes, solvents and asbestos.
DOC series are specially manufactured systems for the businesses that need high capacity water and for the municipalities regarding the drinkable water and process water sensitivity of them.
DOC series systems have standard galvanise plated steel tanks and time control functions. Differential pressure controlled alternatives are also available. In backwash process instead of block valves pneumatic or hydraulic operating cast frame diaphragm valves are used. Filtration materials are graded quartz and activated carbon minerals.
If wanted;
- Tank frame can be stainless steel or epoxy supported linear fibre
- Valves can be stainless steel or PVC selected.
Standard models are non bypass, but there are alternative bypass models that can feed untreated water into the system during backwash.
In industrial activated carbon filtration systems, moving items that may be broken down are reduced. Their control systems are simple so they operate for a long time with no problem. This simplicity allows you to do the maintenance easily with your own team without the need of engineering information.
In selecting activated carbon filter, our project engineers determine the optimum surface velocity according to the rate of flow and activated chlorine amount of your water. They calculate the water consumption by determining backwash and rinse periods and the amount of materials to be hold on the surface according to the activated carbon adsoption coefficients. And finally choose the most efficient system for you.
Backwash process is not done for the regeneration of activated carbon minerals, but for breaking up the mineral groups that are pressed and blocked under pressure.
