Model UBR -Sectional Vulcanizing Press
Introducing one of the most advanced vulcanizers in the world, featuring the High Tensile Restraint (HTR) system. Developed by Shaw Almex, the HTR system replaces heavy pressure bolts with significantly lighter and stronger advanced composite materials. Rugged and corrosion proof, this unique system greatly reduces the potential of injury. The new ultra-light beams weigh only 13.5 kg/meter. The UBR vulcanizer can be configured for 100 psi or 200 psi by changing the spacing of the beams with the unique connector system. Carbon UBR heating elements utilize a unique technology that reduces energy consumption by 40% allowing the use of smaller power supplies, reducing overall cost per splice.

- PLATEN Flexible platens contour with the irregularities in the belt, insuring uniform pressure across the entire splice area. Platens built with extruded plank, heating elements, (either durable silicon or carbon heating elements) and durable composite insulating package. Platens available in rhombic, rectangular or Unipress (2 sets of rhombic/rectangular platens) configurations.
- TRAVERSE BARS The new box beam construction is shaped to allow for easy carrying with flanges located on each corner. Available in three profiles, UBR, UBRX and UBRXL are designed to accommodate wider belt lengths and higher pressures. Patented connector blocks ensure proper spacing between the bars during setup and also function as a secondary safety system.
- The High Tensile Restraint System (HTR) works with the traverse bars to contain the components of the press. The unique adjustment blocks allow for eight different daylight adjustments. The HTR restraints can conveniently be stored inside the traverse bars during transportation. Each HTR weighs 2.3 kg (5 lbs) and is encased in protective urethane. Safety factors are increase three fold with the use of the HTR System.
- CONTROL PANEL The new Almex SG1 Switchgear Box is the most advanced control system in the world. It controls the temperature, time and pressure for two sets of platens (4 platens). Eight thermocouple leads monitor platen temperature. Use SG1 with ALMEXPAD Senior (wireless) or ALMEXPAD Junior. - PRESSURE/COOLING Optional HPP20-4 pressure pump and reservoir for operating pressures for 7kg/cm2 (100 psi). Pump includes gauges for fluid level and pressure. Extra reservoirs easily added for larger presses. Cooling options available HPPC20-4.
