Needle valves are special-purpose products designed to control the flow by adjusting the flow rate. Since the geometric limitations of the butterfly and gate valves used for this purpose do not allow linear adjustment function, the need for needle valves has arisen. The circular section structure of needle valves that does not cause turbulence by being protected throughout their fluid passages from the inlet to the outlet; ensuring the regularity of the flow, making them the most optimal control valves.

Another preference of needle valves is that the risk of cavitation is minimized compared to butterfly and gate valves. In cases where the risk of cavitation is high, this risk is eliminated with a cylindrical component added to the valve piston.

The control or actuating mechanism of needle valves is in the form of a gearbox with worm screw and helix gear pair, applying force to a fork in connection with the valve shaft and moving the piston that turns on and turns off the flow section. Since the worm screw helix gear pair in the gearbox is self-locked, the valve openness or adjustment position remains constant unless controlled from the gearbox.
