Nexus - Model OPC -Modbus Slave Link Gateway
The Nexus OPC Modbus Slave Link Gateway product is suitable for applications that require OPC to Modbus or Modbus to OPC connectivity. This product is a Modbus gateway link product suitable for linking multiple Modbus Master devices such as a Process Control DCS or a PLC to an OPC compliant Client Server gateway middleware application. This Nexus OPC Modbus Slave Link application in turn then acts as an OPC Server or an OPC Client or both simultaneously to provide seamless connectivity to any OPC enabled higher level application.
The application supports Modbus Slave functionality on both serial RS-232/422/485 and Ethernet interfaces. The Modbus serial COM port supports the ASCII / RTU Modbus protocols and Modbus/TCP is supported on Ethernet TCP/IP networks.
The Nexus OPC Modbus Link gateway is capable of connecting as an OPC Client to multiple OPC Server applications to acquire data. The data to or from the connected OPC Servers is mapped to a modbus register map file and thus bidirectionally connected to any Modbus Master PLC or DCS device. The Nexus OPC Modbus Link Gateway is also OPC Server capable, hence any OPC Client application can interface with the connected Modbus Master device.
This product allows the user to connect any modern OPC based application, such as our CEMView products or any instrument with our OPC Server products, to a legacy system such as a DCS or PLC with Modbus master serial or Modbus/TCP capability.
Note: For OPC connectivity to a Modbus Slave capable DCS or PLC, a standard Modbus OPC Server can provide the required functionality.
