Company Background
HNU Systems, Inc. introduced the first commercial photoionization based instrument in 1974. In 2003, we became an LLC- PID Analyzers, LLC. Nearly 40,000 of the portable PID’s and and laboratory PID`s have been sold throughout the world. Dr. Jack Driscoll, inventor of the PID, received the AIHA Edward Baier award in 2017 (https://bit.ly/2rRG6M8) for the development of the PID for industrial hygiene measurements. We have been selling CO2 Analyzers for nearly 15 years to markets like, Landfill, indoor air quality and industrial applications for ppm to % levels. We have redesigned our Analyzers to provide lower cost CO2 analyzers with significant additional features
The technique for measuring the concentration depends upon the Lambert Beer Law: I = Io e-kx
Where- I is the measured intensity, Io is the incident intensity, k is the absorption coefficient, and x is the pathlength
This dual beam sensor absorbs Infrared radiation at the 4.3 microns region (CO2 absorption). A reference wavelength (at 3.8 microns) provides an exceptional baseline for the IR source providing very stable measurements.
