The RF-OH21 is a versatile plastic level switch designed for horizontal mounting, enabling high or low-level signaling based on the specific configuration needs. It's engineered to be reversible, operating either in a normally open or normally closed state, thereby enhancing its adaptability in various applications. Available with both internal and external mounting options, the switch features an EPDM compression seal for robust and reliable performance. With standard 300mm lead lengths, the switch can be customized to different lengths to fit specific requirements, ensuring flexibility in use. The operational principle of the RF-OH21 involves a float with a permanent magnet that interacts with a reed switch inside a stationary stem. This interaction causes the reed switch contacts to snap together when the float’s magnetic field approaches, completing the electrical circuit; conversely, the contacts separate, opening the circuit when the magnetic field retreats. This mechanism provides a reliable method for monitoring fluid levels in a wide array of industrial applications.This plastic level switch is horizontally mounted to give either a high level or low level signal and is reversible meaning that it can be either normally open or normally closed. The switch comes with 300mm leads but can be made with various lead or cable lengths (please get in touch with your requirements, minimum order quantities may apply).
Principle
When the magnetic field of permanent magnet inside the float is moved into to the proximity of the reed switch inside the stationary stem, the reed switch contacts “snap” together and closes the electrical circuit. When the magnetic field is moved away from the reed switch, the reed switch contacts move apart and the circuit is opened.
