Provect - Model OX - Self Activating ISCO-Enhanced Bioremediation Reagent
Provect-OX is an in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) + enhanced bioremediation technology that combines persulfate with ferric iron in a single, premixed package. The persulfate is activated by ferric iron to create strong oxidizers including the sulfate radical and ferrate (Fe +4 to +6) that can address a wide variety of organic compounds present in impacted soil, sediment and groundwater, including chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, and pesticides. This built-in activation method eliminates the need for traditional activation chemistries (e.g., hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide) that have associated health, safety, and handling concerns.
Provect-OX uniquely provides long-term, sustained secondary enhanced bioremediation to manage residuals and prevent contaminant rebound, which is a common problem encountered with conventional ISCO technologies. This is accomplished via the utilization of residual iron and sulfate (generated from decomposition of persulfate) as terminal electron acceptors for facultative reductive processes. This technique maximizes the synergy between persulfate and iron for coupled oxidation and enhanced bioremediation.
Provect-OX was developed by experienced practitioners who understand field applications. Our convenient packaging includes 50 lb bags or various sized supersacks and our non-extreme activation chemistry will prevent the mobilization of metals (high pH) and generation of excessive heat or off-gasses.
