Fernco - Puddle Flange/Radon Barrier - 32-1300mm diameter
When a pipe is required to pass through a wall or concrete structure it is usually cast at the point of construction. The concrete will not bond to the pipe and will usually shrink during curing, leaving an ingress path along the outside of the pipe allowing materials such as water, gases and hydrocarbons to pass through the structure or building.
We’ve been supplying Puddle Flanges around the world for over 20 years and within that time we have perfected the design to overcome many common technical issues. The unique Fernco Puddle Flange is specifically designed to connect onto the outside of a pipe which is then cast in concrete. During the casting process the puddle flange material is compressed and when the concrete shrinks during curing the puddle flange material relaxes to block any ingress paths, providing a pressure-tight seal against water, gases (most commonly radon) and hydrocarbons such as oil and petrol.
Fernco Puddle Flanges provide a quick, easy and effective solution. They can be connected to all standard pipe materials such as steel, plastic, stoneware, concrete, cast iron, HDPE etc from sizes 22mm outside diameter to any size above manufactured to project requirements. Common applications include, concrete walls, concrete tanks, manhole chambers, shafts, floor slabs/foundation plates and basements.
