An Efficient Basic Mechanical Principle

The screw is the heart of all RUNI compactors. A basic mechanical principle which is just as obvious as it is efficient. A screw is used to convert the power of rotational movement into horizontal propulsion which because of its moment is able to provide far greater pressure.

The same principle can be found in countless examples in everyday life. We know how the great force used during a screw movement can be transferred to e.g. a bolt, a bench screw or a meat mincer.

RUNI’s Robust Screw Compactor

The powerful metal screw in RUNI’s robust compactor crushes and carries the material to the end of the screw where it is rammed together under great pressure and is thereby compacted.

The counter-pressure is provided by the already compacted material held in place by hydraulic jaws which are primarily controlled electronically.

When the machine is set correctly, the screw will continue to press the compacted material out through the jaws as the required compacting level is gradually reached.
