Ranger - Core Splitter for Geological Research

Every Pothier Core Splitter is proudly manufactured and assembled in Canada at our shop. Core splitters are used to split cores lengthwise for study and analysis. The core splitter handles core diameters from 3/4` (19 mm) to 2 7/8` (73 mm) in lengths of up to 3 3/4` (95.3 mm). The core is split by laying it lengthwise on the vee block and lowering the knife by rotating the hand wheel. When the knife is in firm contact with the core, a sharp blow with a hammer on the rod cap will cleanly split the core.
