Reticulation of Foam
Foams provide the basis for a huge variety of products. Foams used in filtration applications must have an open pore structure providing paths which permit the gas or liquid filtered to pass through the foam and thoroughly permeate its inner surface.
Open-cell structures in foams are achieved by a secondary treatment known as reticulation. This process utilizes high-temperature treatment to eliminate the thin membranes separating the individual cells in the foam.
EMW has a state-of-the-art reticulation facility comprising several reactors:
Reactor I (for blocks)
Processible block dimensions:
- Width: min. 1320 mm max. 1340 mm
- Length: min. 2020 mm max. 2040 mm
- Hight: min. 300 mm max. 700 mm
Reactor II (for blocks)
Processible block dimensions:
- Width: min. 1020 mm max. 1030 mm
- Lenght: min. 2020 mm max. 2030 mm
- Hight: min. 300 mm max. 980 mm
Reactor III (for rolls)
Processible roll dimensions:
- Diameter: min. 950 mm max. 970 mm
- Hight: min. 1000 mm max. 1770 mm
- Core diameter: 50 mm or 76 mm (Inside)
Drawing on our extensive know-how and many years of experience in reticulation, we are able to reticulate a wide variety PU foams in accordance with customers` exact requirements.
