Gaugestools - Model BSPT (R) -Ring Plug Thread Gauges
BSPT (R) thread gauges, the full name is British Standard Pipe Taper thread gauges with 55° thread angel, BSPT also called R( external thread), Rc( internal thread), having 1:16 taper thread.
Both ring hand (RH), left hand (LH) available
BSPT threads are general-purpose sealing pipe threads, it need to add sealing material when using BSPT thread. BSPT threads are economic, the accuracy-machining requirements is moderate. Just the dry sealing pipe threads can be sure sealing connection without adding sealing material. There is no dry sealing pipe threads in British pipe threads series. BSPT threads have two main functions, one is mechanical-connection, the other is sealing. BSPP threads just have mechanical-connection function, so BSPT threads have higher accuracy requirements than BSPP threads.
At gaugestools, all BSPT thread gauges are manufactured according to standard: ISO 7-2, BS EN 10226-3 and BS 21.
