Rotary Drumfilters & Parabolic Screens Liquid Filtration

The operation of the drumfilter is based on the principle of swimming and floating solids that stick on the rotating drum while the liquid flows through the slots of the wedge wire drum. By the rotatingdrum the solids are carried out of the liquid and removed by a scraper mechanism. The scraper is pressed to the drum by an adjustable springmechanism. The scraper is made of brass or a wearing resistant plastic. The drum is driven by a motorreductor at a low number of revolutions. The whole construction is made of SS304.

Principle of Operation:

• The spraymechanism (4-6 bar) at the inside of the drum prevents blocking of the slots from the backside caused by the scraper pressing the solids in the slots.

• Above data are based on liquids with a suspended solids content of max. 200 mg/L; higher dirtloads reduce the flowrate.

The Mini-screen is the smaller , simpler design of the Industrial parabolic screen type VTPS, from the wide range of liquidfilters from the V&T Group. This parabolic screen is designed for applications where faste draineble dirt needs to be filtered our for applications where the height is limmited, as this mini-screen is a halve meter lower as the standard parabolic screen design. For a lot of horticulture our lighter industrial applications the mini-screen will be the effective, economical solution.

Workingmechanisme: Static parabolic screens find their origin in the mining industry for the separation of dry particles. At present most applications are in solid-liquid separation of granulates*, fibers, organic material ect. The separating principle is based on peeling mechanism. The wedge wire screen built from profiled metal wire stands at right angles to the direction of the liquid and the flat side of the wire under a certain angle. This results in a separation of the liquid from the solids, letting the solids slide down by gravity. The separating efficiency is about halve the slot width. On the front side a collector catches the solids. When the solids are heavy or sticky the separating mechanism can be assisted by a vibrating motor , spray nozzles and or a brush mechanism. The complete screen construction is made of SS304.
