RusFoam - Model VC -Non-hardening Aqueous Foam
The greatest safety risk underground coal operators face is the accumulation of explosive methane gas. Traditional ventilation control methods include nitrogen injection, blowing and exhausting systems and curtains and seals. Rusmar has developed a non-hardening aqueous foam formulation that can supplement a ventilation plan by effectively forming a temporary plug preventing or directing the flow of gas.
Variations in internal pressure of gases contained within the gob, caused primarily by external barometric fluctuations, can create pressure differentials in certain locations. Negative pressure gradients between the face and the gob can lead to out-gassing at areas of low resistance and cause dilution of oxygen by the introduction of inert and noxious gases in certain limited locations. RusFoam will create barriers at these points that will increase resistance and reduce or eliminate these potential problems.
