Saltec - Screw Press

The screw press is based on a shaftless screw conveyor that transports the material to the press unit.

The material is dewatered in the long matrix, which is the press zone. At the outlet end, a plug is formed of the dewatered sludge, and through the pressure that is adjusted with pistons, the DS-content is increased on the outlet sludge. The axial spiral makes the screw press specially suited for materials that tend to ”staple” and wrap around an axis. Materials with varying particle size and irregular shape is transported advantageously with shaftless screw conveyors.

Shaftless spirals reduces the need for maintenance, as they can work with a significantly higher rate of filling in the conveyor.
