Thinning Liquid No. 14 can be used as a surface primer to coat porous substrates such as ceramic or fabric prior to application of topcoat. May be applied by dip, spray or brush.

Sauereisen Thinning Liquid can also serve as a binder for making heat-stable or chemical-resistant cements by mixing with silica, carborundum, alundum, zircon or clay. No. 14 may be used as an oilresistant coating for impregnating wood or other materials, or for making fireresistant paint compounds and adhesives.

Add appropriate amount of Thinning Liquid to Sauereisen cement while continually stirring to achieve a more flowable consistency. Mixing may be done with a slow-speed mixer or by hand with a spatula. A minimum amount should be used as excess Thinning Liquid may reduce mechanical strength, increase shrinkage and delay set time.

Cements thinned by Sauereisen No. 14 will cure in 24 hours at ambient temperature through loss of water or by interaction of chemical-setting agents and atmospheric carbon dioxide. See individual product technical data sheet for more detailed setting and curing procedures.

All equipment should be cleaned with soap and water before No. 14 cures. If removal is required after cure, consult Sauereisen for recommendations.
