Scrappers - Model FLOCC -Magnetic Separators for Waste Recycling

FLOCC™ magnetic separators are designed for accurate separation of ferrous fraction in the waste recycling process. These separators are significantly different from classic belt magnetic separators. They are characterized by high accuracy of purification. The separators are fitted with a specially developed FLOCC™ magnetic block. The block generates a strong variable magnetic field that releases unwanted non-ferrous elements caught in the magnetic field with an iron fraction.
The FLOCC™ magnetic separators are used to separate larger ferrous particles. They are installed over conveyor belts or vibratory feeders.

Belt separators are used in many areas:

• iron particles recovery from cable shredding
• purification of shredded scrap from a non-magnetic fraction
• iron rejection from WEEE recycling process
• plastic purification
• municipal waste purification
• cleaning of wood shrubs, chips

The massive construction of magnetic separator is made entirely of non-magnetic steel. It is equipped with FLOCC™ magnetic block based on permanent magnets. The magnetic block is carefully sealed and covered in shell. The separator is fitted with belt with cleats. The belt in the standard version is made from thin material that is highly resistant to cuts. At the same time it retains high magnetic permeability. The ellipse shape of drive and return drums increase belt tracking position. The drums are mounted on the bearing units and the separator it is driven by a motoreducer. The separator structure has fixed holders to mount the device on standalone frame to hang on chains. The standard version of magnetic separator provides electrical installation such as ON/OFF switch and safety switch.

The FLOCC™ magnetic separators can be equipped with:

• cleaning belt position control system
• switch panel with belt speed control
• bearings with dust cover
• cleaning belt with cleats made of reinforced rubber
• mounting chains with adjustment screws
• support frame to mount Magnetic Separator over belt conveyor

The overband magnetic separator equipped with FLOCC™ magnetic block around which cleaning belt with mounted cleats rotates. The magnetic block generates strong magnetic field and attracts iron particles. At the same time it releases non-ferrous parts by rotating ferrous particles and rejects the particles in the direction of the belt movement.

An important part of the separation is to set the right distance between the separator and the conveyor. The closer the distance, the closer the magnetic field is to the iron particles and the separation is more effective. For proper separation process the user needs to care for the surrounding area. Components of conveyors or vibratory feeders within the range of the magnetic field should be made of non-magnetic materials.
