Secar - Model 71 -Calcium Aluminate Cement
Secar 71 is the binder of choice for formulating all types of refractory castables, especially deflocculated, low water systems designed for the most demanding applications. Manufactured in Chesapeake, VA, USA, Le Teil, France, West Thurrock, England, and Tianjin, China, refractory formulators can rely on this consistent product for production anywhere in the world.
The construction products industry has also found many uses for this product including light colored grouts or any other color sensitive product requiring the advanced properties of Calcium Aluminate Cement.
Secar 71 cement produced in Chesapeake, VA is a high purity, white, calcium aluminate cement. No admixtures or alumina additions are present. The clinker for this cement is prepared by solid state reaction under mineralogical control. The sintered clinker is then ground to 4,000cm 2/g Blaine surface area.
Secar 71 cement is a hydraulic binder with an alumina content of approximately 70%. Composed almost entirely of calcium aluminate phases, Secar 71 is ideally suited for refractory, or construction chemistry applications. The primary mineralogical phases of Secar 71 are calcium aluminate (CaAl2O4), and calcium di-aluminate (CaAl4O7). Secar 71 imparts excellent mechanical strength to mortars and concretes and is well adapted to complicated deflocculated castable systems (LCC, ULCC) currently prevalent in the refractory industry. With less than 0.6% other oxides and a PCE rating of cone 20 (1,563°C), Secar 71 is well adapted to almost any refractory application.
Secar 71 is also recommended for use in products requiring rapid hardening, resistance to abrasion, mechanical shock, high temperature exposure or where other high performance properties are required of cement.
Secar 71 is available packaged in 100-lb. bags or 3,000-lb. SuperSacks.
