SHARE

Shand & Jurs offers a uniquely designed seal, named Expanda-Seal™, which uses tank pressure to inflate the gasket. This design actually uses the internal vessel pressure to create a tighter seal the closer the pressure gets to the set point. Whatever your industry, this high-performance sealing technology is an ideal fit for refineries, tank farms, terminals, sewage treatment plants, landfills, agricultural, or even the food and beverage industry.

This innovative design actually uses the internal vessel pressure to create a tighter seal the closer the pressure gets to the set point. Expanda-Seal™ ensures less than 0.5 SCFH air at 95% of the set point; the end result is a nearly bubble-tight seal.

Features and Benefits

  • Significantly Reduces Emissions and Odors Patented Unique Design
  • Less Than .5 SCFH @ 95% of Set Point
  • Best Available Control
  • Technology for Low Pressure
  • Retains Valuable Product

Expanda-Seal™ high-performance sealing technology can be utilized on your existing Varec® 2010/2020 pressure and vacuum conservation vents to reduce vapor emissions, evaporation loss, oders and inert gas cost. Available in a full range of sizes and soft goods, the patented unique Expanda-Seal™ inflating gasket design also helps prevent leaks caused by worn seating surfaces requiring less maintenance - saving time and money.

No need to remove the existing Varec® valve from the tank. The retrofit can be accomplished in minutes. Simply lift and remove the existing Varec® Pallet and replace it with the Expanda-Seal™ Retrofit Pallet Assembly. Available in a full range of sizes and soft goods.

When pressure inside the tank is below the set point, the deflated diaphragm rests on the seat ring in a typical manner, as with any normal valve, retaining internal pressure.

As the pressure approaches set point, the Expanda-Seal™, diaphragm inflates and wraps around the mating seat to achieve this unique sealing effect.

When the pressure in the tank is at or above set point, the valve lifts to relieve the overpressure.
