Sieve Bend in Cassava Processing Cassava is a staple food for nearly 800 million people, and grows in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. There are multiple names for the sieve bend, including the DSM screen and static sieve screen. No matter what a customer calls it, a sieve bend is a practical solid / liquid separation unit.
Rigid wedge wires form the bowed surface, over which feed slurries trickle down. During this process, a layer of liquid is sliced off with fine particles, passing through the slots between wedge wires.
Sieve bend screens are ideal for sizing and water removal applications. As they are widely used in treatment plants for paper and pulp, breweries, and food processing. In addition to wedge wires, customers can also choose other wire profiles (such as profile wires or shaped wires ) including round, square, and flat steel bars. Wedge wires are welded to their support rods at each point of contact for strength and corrosion resistance. Evenly distributed slots ensure a high water removal and classification efficiency.
