Siltbuster - Model DAF -Dissolved Air Flotation

All our systems are supplied pre-packaged with a white-water system that does not require compressed air, reducing the power consumption/running costs, saving space and reducing the noise.

The range of units available allows different options to be considered according to the application, with our standard DAF range unit flow rates ranging from 1m³/hr up to 100+m³/hr and the flexibility to run units in parallel as well or as part of our modular plug and play solutions covering a wide range of application over numerous sectors.

DAF units are specifically designed to reduce suspended solids which are buoyant in nature (or exhibit near neutral buoyancy) or which have a propensity to float under certain conditions. These can include fats, oils and greases (FOGs), organic matter, algae, etc. contained in water or wastewater originating from processes/applications such as:

• Food and Drinks production (e.g. dairy, ready meals/sauces, canned foods, fruit and vegetables, whisky and other alcoholic beverages)
• Industrial manufacturing (e.g. chemical plants, pharmaceuticals, paper mills)
• Municipal wastewater treatment
• Recycling
• Potable water treatment
• Environmental remediation works
• Remediation Projects, Gas Works, Timber Preserving Yards, Petrol Stations

In many of these applications, the removal of any COD associated with the solids removed is also a key benefit, aiding compliance with discharge consents, helping to reduce Mogden charges and/or reducing the biological load on downstream processes.

DAF units are sized on both the volumetric flow and the amount of suspended solids in the wastewater to be treated. These aspects are critical in selecting the optimum DAF unit from our standard range, either for hire or purchase.
