Siltbuster is renown as the UK’s leading developer and largest supplier of high performance and rapidly deployable mobile Lamella Settlement Units (also known as Lamella Clarifiers or Settlement Tanks), for the effective continuous removal and storage of solids once held suspended within water – responsible for their dirty & discoloured appearance. If used at their typical operating range under gravity alone, the units are capable of capturing 95% of mineral-based silica particles down to 18 microns in diameter; along with a small proportion of the finer sized fractions in suspension. With over 20 years of experience in the field, backed up by a team of engineers and scientists, our Lamella Settlement Units cover a wide range of applications across numerous sectors, including; Construction, Industrial, Municipal and Mining, either as a stand-alone solution or as part of our ‘plug and play’ modular systems.

Siltbuster operates the largest and most varied fleet of Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) units within the UK with rapid mobilisation and installation, due to off-site manufacturing and extensive pre-testing before any deployment. This responsiveness and flexibility help our customers with seasonal peaks in demand, planned and emergency works upgrades, contingency planning, temporary treatment and site resilience works.

Our mix tanks are available in a range of different sizes to provide the necessary contact and reaction time required for your desired treatable flowrate and contamination. All tanks incorporate integral baffles that can be changed in position to suit the treatment philosophy with the mixing of chemicals controlled via top mounted variable speed mixer motors, making these units well suited to applications where regulation of energy is paramount to the process. To remove the need for further pumping, our mix tanks can be provided with support steelwork, allowing the flocculated wastewater to gravitate naturally to the separation/settlement stage if required.

The Siltbuster Chemical Dosing Skid comprises a space-efficient and splash proof enclosure (housing) for the storage of dosing pumps and its associated ancillary equipment provided in a range of configurations from simple flow-proportional dosing to automated polymer batching systems. These compact neat skids are provided with a bunded chemical spill tray which can be easily forklifted into position on site to ensure HSE guidelines are followed.

The MCW (Micro Concrete Washout System) by Siltbuster has been developed responding to calls from the industry for a more compact and versatile system that neutralises and recycles concrete washwater. The unit is a self-contained treatment system which enables water to be treated, stored and reused for wash down purposes.

The Siltbuster range of Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR) is designed to provide packaged plug and play aerobic biological treatment, easy to operate and easy to maintain. Based on established fixed film biological treatment our MBBR uses media with a specific area of up to 800m²/m³, providing a substantial greater treatment capacity – up to twice the capacity – within the same footprint when compared with traditional mobile treatment solutions, such as Submerged Aerated Filters (SAFs).

The Siltbuster CM400 Oil Water Separator (OWS) utilises coalescing media technology to provide effective removal of free phase hydrocarbons at high flow rates within a small footprint. It utilises an oleophilic media technology which allows operation at higher flow rate for LNAPL separation. This coalescing media works by providing a surface for globules as small as 20 microns to attach to and combine together to form larger globules. These larger particles then overcome the surface adhesion of water and float rapidly to the surface. As part of a modular system, it may be operated in conjunction with a Lamella Settlement Unit should the feed also contain solids in suspension.

Available in sizes: iHB10, iHB20R and iHB40R. i means Integrated Chemical Reaction Tank, HB means Hopper Bottom Settlement Tank. The numbers refer to the m2 settlement area and maximum m³ operation range (depending on applications). R means the equipment has a rake to gently move settled sludge, minimising potential for “ratholing” and also slightly thickening the sludge.

The Siltbuster PMPU20 is an integrated solution which comprises two dedicated reaction tanks and integral lamella clarifier for the multistage manipulation of pH levels and removal of suspended solids. This sequential treatment philosophy not only reduces the amount of reagent required per cubic metre of water, but also reduces the hardness/alkalinity and improves the treated water quality upon discharge.
