IGI - Single Channel Vibrating Wire Data Logger
The Innovative Geotechnical Instrumentation`s Vibrating Wire Readout Model digilog 1 has been designed to read most commercially available vibrating wire sensors with resonant frequency range of 400Hz to 6000Hz. It also has an inbuilt readout for temperature sensors (thermistors) which are often incorporated within most vibrating wire sensors. The readout stores both VW and temperature readings into memory and later transfer the stored data directly to a USB 2.0 pen drive.
The digilog 1 VW Readout is a low cost, portable, battery operated readout unit for using with variety of vibrating wire sensors such as piezometers, strain gauges, load cells, stress meters, extensometers, displacement transducers, settlement systems, etc.
digilog 1 is a IP65 rated hand-held, robust, splash proof box (ABS plastic) with a 16x2 character LCD, IP67 rated transfer switch and USB connector. The VW sensors are connected to the readout via cable glands and connected to connector on PCB. The readout is powered by a 3xAA Alkaline batteries and are easily replaceable. The reading from the sensor is performed periodically with the period pre-set by the user. The readout unit goes to sleep after reading is performed which increases the battery life.
The VW readout unit incorporates a ultra low-power microcontroller programmed to perform various functions of the readout including sensor excitation (to pluck and read VW sensors), storing the data, transferring data to USB 2.0 pen drive, sensor calibration, battery monitoring and system time setting.
The digilog 1 vibrating Wire Readout unit can be used with all the Innovative Geotechnical Instrumentation’s and all commercially available vibrating wire gages. The key features of digilog 1 are…
