The Dräger Pac 8000 is a robust multipurpose single gas detector designed to operate in harsh environments. It is a reusable personal detector that can identify harmful concentrations of 29 different gases, including specialty gases such as NO2, O3, and COCl2. The Pac 8000 features advanced sensors with a rapid t-90 response time for fast detection and reliable readings even under challenging conditions. Notably, it supports the definition of additional alarm thresholds like TLV® and STEL. Compatible with a range of sensors for gases like CO2, Cl2, HCN, NH3, NO2, PH3, and organic vapors, it can detect extremely low concentrations, for instance, O3 at 0.02 ppm and COCl2 at 0.01 ppm. Built to withstand extreme conditions, its sensors can operate under air pressures from 700 to 1,300 mbar. The device is protected by a membrane filter, shielding it from dust, liquids, and foreign substances, and its shock-resistant, chemical-resistant housing meets IP68 standards. A clear LED indication shows when the unit is ready for use, and sensor types are labeled with visible colors to avoid errors. The large display presents neutral language messages and relevant details such as gas concentration, unit of measure, and battery status, with an illuminated background for readability in dark settings. Upon detecting dangerous gas levels, the Pac 8000 triggers audible, visual, and vibrating alarms; LED lights ensure visibility from any angle, and the acoustic alarm reaches up to 90 dB. Users can view peak concentrations at any time and access logged alarms post-event. The device logs concentrations and events with timestamps, and data can be downloaded for further analysis through an interface.
