Type SCMB is a single or multi-stage self-priming horizontal side channel pump. In addition to the self-priming ability side-channel pumps have the advantage due to their high pressure factor, to work at relatively low pressure levels more economical than conventional centrifugal pumps when conveying small flow rates. Due to the axial suction port and the upstream radial impeller, the SCMB type achieves low NPSH values. The steps are sealed off from the atmosphere by chambered O-rings.
