SISMAT - Front-Raked Mechanical Water Screens
They are generally utilised in large treatment plants, industrial treatment plants, pumping stations, water intake structures and power plants, especially as coarse screen to screen large impurities such as leaves, grass, jellyfish, seaweeds etc. in the water.
In general, front raked mechanical screens consist of a frame, a fixed screen and a scraping system. The rake is driven by a chain mechanism. As opposed to Linear and Cable-operated type mechanical screens, there are multiple rakes, the number of which depends on the amount of screenings in the wastewater.
As the rakes go up driven by the chain, they will carry to the top the screenings collected at the fixed screen, and they will be cleaned automatically by the counter scraper at the exact returning point.
