EmStat Blue - Small and Low Cost Potentiostat
EmStat Blue is a small USB and battery powered potentiostat with integrated Bluetooth. It is ideal for mobile sensor applications. EmStat Blue is a small and low cost potentiostat with research grade capabilities. It has eight current ranges from 1 nA to 100 mA (EmStat3+ Blue) full scale, with a minimum resolution of 1 pA. It provides the most relevant electroanalytical measurement techniques and is used with the PSTrace software or with PStouch for Android.
Standard included with an EmStat Blue:
- Rugged carrying case
- High quality, double shielded cell cable with
2 mm banana connectors for Working, Counter, Reference electrode and Ground - Crocodile clips
- Dummy cell
- USB cable
- PSTrace software for Windows
Optional:
- Samsung tablet for use with PStouch
Customization for (industrial) applications
EmStat Blue is ideal for customization because it has:
- a Screen Printed Electrode (SPE) connector on the front for direct use with your electrodes
- an extensive SDK for quick development of custom smartphone or tablet apps or PC software
- an integrated Bluetooth radio and Li-Ion battery
- commercially feasible prices for customization or re-branding at already low quantities
The following techniques are supported by EmStat Blue.
Voltammetric techniques:
- Linear sweep voltammetry (LSV)
- Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV)
- Square wave voltammetry (SWV)
- Normal pulse voltammetry (NPV)
- Cyclic voltammetry (CV)
These methods can all be used in their stripping modes which are applied for (ultra-) trace analysis.
Techniques as a function of time:
- Chronoamperometry (CA)
- Pulsed amperometric detection (PAD)
- Multiple pulse amperometry (MPAD)
- Open circuit potentiometry (OCP)
- Multistep amperometry (MA)
Main extensions for EmStat Blue:
- Multiplexer for using up to 8 or 16 cells with one potentiostat
- Pt1000 temperature sensor.
- Magnetic stirrer for stripping analysis applications.
- USB galvanic isolator for floating measurements.
- Differential Electrometer Amplifier (DEA) for use as floating voltage amplifier with differential input and single output for measuring an auxiliary signal between -5 to +5 V or -10 to +10 V.
