SpiraSep - Model UF -Ultrafiltration Membrane Elements
SpiraSep UF elements are used in conventional submerged membrane systems for water and wastewater applications. Conventional submerged membrane systems operate in a “feed and bleed” mode, where feed water is continuously delivered to the membrane tank while a concentrated reject stream is removed from the process. Air scouring and backwashing are used to clean the membranes while maintaining system performance. SpiraSep UF modules allow wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) to utilize existing basins or tanks, such as clarifiers or chlorine contact basins, to upgrade their existing facilities to UF filtration without having to build additional infrastructure.

- Membrane Aeration - The open flow channels enable aggressive air scouring where bubbles “scrub” the membrane surface clean.
- High Effluent Quality – The strong, durable design eliminates mechanical failures, ensuring high quality effluent throughout the life of the element.
- Membrane Backwash – Periodic backwash purges particulate matter from the membrane surface
- Low Fouling Membrane Chemistry – Hydrophilic PVDF or PES chemistry enhances membrane fouling and permeability characteristics.
