Rising - Model 310 -Stainless Steel Pipe
A SS 310 pipe is part of a medium carbon austenitic stainless steel grade. The Stainless Steel 310 Pipe is designed with an outstanding chemical composition of chromium, nickel, carbon, manganese, phosphorous, sulfur, silicon, and iron. The pipes are developed for use in higher temperature and corrosion-induced applications.
A 310 Stainless Steel Pipe is tolerant to sulfidation and can be used in severe carburizing environments. These pipes are well-suited to work in temperatures up to 1150 degrees C. The SS 310 Pipe is less prone to embrittlement and sensitization when in service. These pipes are however not suited for frequent liquid quenching applications as it suffers from thermal shocks. A 310 Stainless Steel Tube possesses higher strength than a pipe. These tubes are designed with a minimum tensile strength of 520mpa and have minimum proof stress of 205mpa. The 310 Stainless Steel Tube Suppliers supply products with a thickness of 255 max HV and possess a melting range between 1400 to 1450 degrees C. Most 310 Stainless Steel Pipe Suppliers have products of different sizes and specifications. These pipes can be readily welded and subsequently processed in standard procedures.
What is SS 310 Seamless Pipe?
A seamless pipe is a circular hollow section pipe that has no seams around it. The ASTM A312 TP310 Seamless Pipe is manufactured with an extrusion process as hot billets are passed through metal to shape the pipe. These pipes have 20% higher strength and have superior performance compared to the ASTM A312 TP310 Welded Pipe. The seamless pipe is available in sizes of NPS 24 or less. The pipes are less prone to corrosion and have a complex manufacturing process. This makes them more expensive than the ASME SA 312 TP310 ERW Pipe. The seamless pipes have better ovality but possess an inconsistent wall thickness.
- The SS 310 pipe has a moderate strength at higher temperatures
- The pipes have an oxidation resistance up to 2000 degrees F.
- A 310 SS Tubing has good resistance to hot corrosion and reducing media.
- The SS 310 grade pipe can be readily welded and processed with standard shop fabrication procedures.
- The pipe works well in cryogenic temperatures.
