Simflo`s discharge elbows are fabricated steel and are provided with a class 150 ANSI raised face flanges of the same diameter as the column pipe. The discharge elbow has an integral steel base drilled for flange mounting and lifting lugs of sufficient strength to lift the entire head, column pipe and pump/motor assembly safely for installation and servicing operations. A threaded connection is provided in the head base for the installation a terminal box. The base plate is also provided with threaded openings for a well vent and a water level indicator. Simflo can custom design a discharge to meet the specific needs of a wide variety of installations.

The pump discharge pipe shall be of high grade steel, connected by threaded sleeve couplings. Simflo`s discharge pipe conforms to AWWA standards and is threaded with ANSI standard tapered pipe threads. The pipe is sized to allow for a smooth flow velocity to minimize friction losses in the piping.

Pump bowls, suction & discharge cases are cast of high grade, close grained cast iron, custom cast to Simflo`s exacting specifications, allowing for stringent quality control. The water passages of pump bowls are vitreous enamel lined for a smooth surface to provide optimum performance. The discharge cases are designed with vanes to deliver the flow of water with minimum turbulence. Suction cases are fitted with a bronze, grease lubricated bearing and a bronze sand collar to protect the suction bowl bearing from abrasives. Intermediate bowls are provided with fluted neoprene and/or bronze bearings. Impellers are cast in high grade bronze and are capable of being fitted with wear rings if specified. All of Simflo`s impellers are accurately cast, machined, statically balanced, and filed for optimum performance. The impellers are fastened to the bowl shaft with steel tapered collets. The bowl shaft is constructed of only stainless steel shafting meeting pump shaft quality standards for straightness and surface quality. The bowl shaft is designed to transmit the full horsepower load imposed on the pump.

Simflo`s motor brackets are constructed of high grade cast iron or fabricated steel for special applications. The motor bracket is fitted with a bronze bearing and a sand collar to protect the bearing from abrasives in the liquid pumped. The inlet area is designed to be at least five times the impeller inlet area and is thoroughly covered with a stainless steel screen to prevent solids from damaging the pump. The stainless steel motor coupling is designed with sufficient size and strength to withstand maximum torque generated by the motor with a liberal safety factor.
