The magnetic couplings are permanent-magnetic couplings transmitting the torque without contact through magnetic forces between two magnetic rotors.
The standard type GS900 magnetic coupling with containment shroud and magnets positioned radially ensures hermetic separation of driving and driven side in pumps and agitators.
Disk coupling:
With the disk coupling which is optionally available the magnets face each other axially so that torques can be transmitted through plane walls. The transmittable torque can be varied by adjusting the air gap.
GS900 couplings with containment shroud made of stainless steel are the most common type for pump drives and other applications with liquids in the lower performance range. Subject to their high resistance to pressure and temperature they cover a wide application range.
The magnetic rotors are available from stock in an unbored resp. pilot bored design. If requested, the parts can be fi nish bored according to ISO fi t H7 and provided with a feather keyway to DIN 6885 sheet 1 [JS9].
Inside the rotating magnetic fi eld metallic containment shrouds generally cause losses of eddy current which are converted into heat and which may require cooling measures. On applications with pumps the generated heat can usually be dissipated by the conveyed medium.
If higher pressure resistance than covered by the GS900 standard is required, We provides for customised special solutions.
