SWM Conwed - Extruded Square Netting
Our extruded square netting is manufactured through a single-step continuous extrusion process that yields a plastic netting material with integral joints. Our resins and formulations vary depending on the final product application and the performance requirements set by our customers. From automotive and parts protection, to filtration, infrastructure, and building and construction products, our extruded square netting provides superior protection, containment, and separation capabilities.
Conwed™ Square Netting products are manufactured via a continuous extrusion process that yields plastic net featuring an integral joint for stability. In a secondary process, Conwed nets can be oriented to provide a lightweight but high strength netting for containment and reinforcement. We use a variety of resins to meet our customers’ application requirements to ensure superior protection, containment and separation.
Conwed™ for Hygiene Applications
Our Conwed™ elastomeric netting (formerly known as Rebound) is the ultimate stretch engine for elastic composites used in adult incontinence briefs and underwear, and in baby training pants. Typical applications include elastic waistbands and side panels which are usually composites made with lightweight nonwovens.

Our standard Conwed netting is used in permanent erosion control applications. Its color helps TRMs aesthetically blend in green vegetation areas. Properties: strand length = 5.0”, strand diameter =0.0105”, crimp height 0.25” and it is delivered in 550 lbs. bales.

Conwed™ with bi-directional elasticity is the standard elastomeric netting. It has an elastomer formulation in both directions of the web (MD & CD). SWM can tailor the strand count, hole size, weight, thickness and hysteresis performance to meet customer requirements.

Conwed™ with uni-directional elasticity, a more elaborate product, is a web design with an elastomeric material in one direction and another polymer in the opposite direction. SWM can tailor the strand count, hole size, weight, thickness and hysteresis performance to meet customer requirements.

It is an competitive alternative to other materials such as spandex, films, and stretchable nonwovens.

We can customize technical properties in apparel applications to meet specific stretch performance or we can fine-tune breathability properties through different netting configurations.
