TA - Model AFM-2 -Alpha Floor Monitor
The Alpha Floor Monitor AFM-2 is similar to the BFM-1 above in concept, but substitutes alpha scintillation detectors for the GM tubes. The detection system covers 144 square inches at one time providing extreme sensitivity. Since response to betas and gammas is zero, single alphas may be detected via the loudspeaker without having to attempt to sort from background.
