Tank Cleaning Nozzles
Tank cleaning nozzles can be used for both small and large tanks and are available as both rotating and static sprays. It makes a distinction between rotating cleaning nozzles and static spray balls.
The rotating nozzles (rotational cleaners) are driven by means of specially positioned or by turbine or internal gears. Rotational cleaners achieve very good cleaning of the entire tank surface as rapid-repetition impact loosens the dirt and washes it off of the inside tank surfaces.
Static spray balls do not rotate. They are used primarly for washing down relatively small tanks and vessels. All tank cleaning nozzles are operating at low pressures.
Free-spinning heads
The cleaning liquid turns the spray head by means of specially positioned nozzles. Rapid-repetition impact loosens the dirt and washes it off of the tank surfaces. The effect is best at low pressures in small to medium-size tanks.
Internal regulated drive
The liquid flow powers the head by an internal turbine. Either a gear reduction or a hydraulic brake is used to control the rotation. Hence the produced droplets are bigger and hit the tank wall with higher velocity. This keeps the speed of the head within its optimal range across a wider span of pressures, and the nozzles develops more powerful spray.
Programmed rotation machines
Here, the cleaning fluid drives via the turbine an internal gear reducer that keeps the sprayer turning in two planes. In the course of spraying cycle, the jets sweep the entire inside surface of the tank according to the preprogrammed, model-specific pattern. This takes a certain amount of time, but these models generate the highest jet pressures (= force of impact) and are therefore ideal for very large tanks and the toughest of cleaning tasks.
Static spray balls
Static spray balls do not rotate, so they require a comparatively large amount of liquid in order to generate turbulent flow. They are used primarily for washing down relatively small tanks vessels.
