The first Tes Car Srl company was founded in 1976 by Mr Elio Tonti together with his son Sauro (respectively the grandfather and father of the current Tes Car owner, Mirco Tonti). The initial main activity was the production of frames and heavy carpentry for both Trivelsonda and Mait, two of the most famous drill manufacturers on the market; then they started producing drilling tools and kelly bars. After 20 years of experience in the drilling and foundation sector, Sauro Tonti wanted to deepen and improve his personal ideas and designs, which gave birth to the current "CF SERIES" (later combined in the brand new "TT SERIES") and "TES SERIES" special drill rigs, now famous and recognised all over the world.

Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing activity of TES CAR focalized first on the project and construction of the hyhdraulic drilling rigs for Micropiles and Soil Investigation, putting on the market the TES Series including several models which respond to the main contractors’ requirements and rise above the competitors thanks to their capability to change their working configuration according to the different jobsites features. Recently the engineers responsible for the TES Series have developped also a brand new machine specific for the water wells drilling and the geothermal power applications. Currently the max drilling depth which is achieveable with our biggest rig is 600m, but we’re working to complete a new project which will permit us to break the barrier of 1000m.

After years of research in the drilling field, in 1985 TES CAR put in the market the first “mini-piling rigs” for foundations, now worldwide recognized as “CF Series”. The main feature of this machines line, projected and patended by the current President Mr. Sauro Tonti, is the capability to move and work into limited access areas, narrow spaces, almost treacherous for our competitors. These machines are available with a torque up 25 kNm (2500 kgm) to 40 kNm (4000 kgm) and with a weight up 7,5 t to 15 t.

Further to the “mini-piling rigs”, TES CAR offers a medium-size piling rigs with a torque up 60 kNm (6000 kgm) to 100 kNm (10’000 kgm). Last, following the growing demand of the emerging markets, TES CAR has completed the project, and will realize in a short time, a brand new piling rig of big dimensions, capable to develop a torque up 180 kNm (18’000 kgm) to 230 kNm ( 23’000 kgm), with max weight of 55 t. As for the Micropiles rigs, the most important feature which makes unique the TES CAR piling rigs, consists in the versatility and in the possibility to convert every machine in several different working configurations. For example, one of the leading-edge models, the “CF6”, can be equipped with Kelly Bar, CFA, Soil Mixing, Pile Driving Hammer, Slurry Wall Grab, Vibrator, Micropiles Kit and a brand new special Kit for the Solar Panel application. It’s easy to realize the enormous advantage for the end-user who can buy the machine in base Kelly bar configuration and then convert it in all the other different setting just buying a brand new kit according to the new jobsite features. As a consequence of this, the customer can save a lot of money, but over all he can be much more malleable and open to the different opportunities the construction market offers.

Further to the drilling rigs, in 1993 TES CAR got into the market of crawler cranes, both with lattice or telescopic boom type. The loading capacity of TES CAR range goes up 4 t to 40 t, and our engineers are currently working on a brand new project for a 80 t crane with a 40m lattice boom and a total weight of 75 t.

From the marriage of our drilling machines and cranes, in 1995 bourn a special drilling rig for big CFA piles (up to 30m deep with 1200mm diameter). This machine together with other models took the name of “TCA Series” and completed the existing product range.

In 2006 TESCAR enlarged further the range of “TES Series” with a new model, called TES 40/1000, specific for the horizontal drilling. This machine is capable to drill 60m with a max diameter of 1000mm.

On the last 5 years TESCAR has improved and developed all its piling rigs replacing the undercarriages with the latest and most reliable excavator bases such as HITACHI, CATERPILLAR, BOBCAT, KUBOTA, KOMATSU, EUROCOMACH, adding also brand new crawler bases entirely manufacture by TESCAR, such as the undercarriage of the CF2.5A, the CF4, the CF10 and the new Crane T20.

The experience matured in over 35 years, the continuous technical research, strongly supported by our customers suggestions, the insatiable ambition to improve our quality, lead TESCAR to become the leader in the production and sale of the small-medium size piling machines (with several attempts of imitation…).

Main Markets

TESCAR grew up on the italian market of drilling and foundation, getting little by little the trustfulness of the more and more customers who permitted to TESCAR to place itself through the main manufacturer of Piling and micropliling machines.

Further to the domestic market, TESCAR suceed in create and develope a wide sales network all around the world, through its dealers and agents in all the 5 continents.

Apart from our standard production line, TESCAR has always accepted, and will always continue to accept it’s customers’ enquiries for special, out of standard, customized rigs. Indeed it’s not the manufacturer who has to face the different jobsites, but the customers, the contractor, the operators, so when we get a new uncommon enquiry for a special rig, well our answer is always “Yes, we can!” And our top satisfaction is to know that our customers succeed in doing a job thanks to the special machine we manufactured for him!

This is why many of our customers have nicknamed TESCAR “the Rigs Tailor-Maker”!
