ANTECModel TORCH -TOC Analyser with Catalytic Oxidation

SHARE
The TOC Analyser Torch from ANTEC GmbH employs catalytic oxidation for the breakdown of organic carbon. It features a wide measurement range from 50 ppbC to 30,000 ppmC, effectively handling salt- and particle-laden samples. The system utilizes a catalytic oxidation method combined with NDIR detection, concentrating and analyzing the entire sample within the NDIR detector. The Torch offers automated calibration and dilution functions via an integrated PC, streamlining operation and ensuring accurate measurements. Maintenance is simplified due to the well-organized arrangement of components, making all parts easily accessible. The analyser meets 21 CFR Part 11 requirements, making it suitable for use in the pharmaceutical industry requiring FDA clearance. It supports comprehensive validation documentation for IQ/OQ/PQ processes and cleaning validation. The static pressure concentration (SPC) NDIR detector accumulates carrier gas and CO2 molecules, measuring the total TOC content in a single operation, beneficial for low-end measurement accuracy. The automated sample feeder can handle various sample racks, ensuring efficient sample preparation and analysis. The system is compatible with official methods for measuring TOC in various water types, including drinking water, surface water, groundwater, and wastewater.

The TOC analyzer Torch uses catalytic oxidation to break down organic carbon (TOC). The TOC analyzer is characterized by its wide measuring range from 50 ppbC to 30,000 ppmC. The device can also easily measure samples containing salt and particles.

The TOC Torch and TOC Lotix devices use catalytic oxidation with subsequent NDIR detection for analysis. As with the TOC Fusion, the entire sample is concentrated in the NDIR detector and then determined.

The TOC analyzer has a sampler that can be loaded with three different sample plates. The torch is controlled by a PC that is installed in the device to save space. The operating program enables automatic calibration and an automatic dilution function if the sample being measured is above the detection range. Maintenance is very easy due to the assembly arrangement in the device, as all parts are easily accessible.

Special features of the TOC Torch:

  • Different combustion temperatures can be assigned to the respective method
  • Static pressure concentration (US patent pending)
  • Automatic dilution function for samples outside the measuring range
  • Multi-methods for different measuring ranges and applications
  • Automatic calibration - standards do not need to be prepared by hand
  • Detection level:
    • Carbon 50 ppbC to 30,000 ppmC (50 µgC to 30,000 mgC)
  • Easy access to all components
  • Improved catalyst
  • Built-in sampler
  • Shorter analysis time by acidifying the sample in the sampler
  • Automatic blank value recording
  • Electronic flow controller for exact carrier gas control

Fully automated processes
Like the FUSION, the TORCH is also equipped with an automatic calibration program, which is a great relief for the operator. For multi-point calibrations, the calibration standards are produced by the device itself from a stock solution. The stock solution, as well as the samples to be measured, are placed in an automatic sample feeder. This automatic sample feeder is integrated into the system to save space and is arranged in such a way that subsequent samples can also be placed without interrupting the sequence run. The sample plate has 75 positions for 40 ml vials (samples) and four positions for 125 ml bottles (stock solutions). In addition to automatic calibration, the operating program also includes a dilution function, for example, which is carried out automatically when the measured sample is above the detection range. The components for sample preparation and TOC analysis are clearly visible on the front of the devices so that the analysis can be observed during the process. The employees who operate the system find this very convenient. The TOC Torch fully complies with the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11 and can be used without restrictions in the pharmaceutical industry that requires FDA approval. Comprehensive validation documents for carrying out IQ/OQ/PQ are available, as are documentation and instructions for cleaning validation.

Easy maintenance

User-friendliness was given the highest priority in both operation and maintenance work. Maintenance work is easy to carry out thanks to the clear assembly layout, as all components are very easy to assign and accessible.
