VAC-A-TEE - Trenchless Cleanout System
VAC-A-TEE is a trenchless cleanout installation system that is environmentally friendly, utility friendly, and installer friendly. Installed by means of hydro or vacuum excavation, the VAC-A-TEE system is a clean and safe method for installing a new cleanout, which provides access to the sewer lateral pipe for cleaning, lining, root removal, CCTV, etc. The system involves a patented PVC saddle, riser pipe of appropriate length, and proprietary hybrid adhesive/sealant. After a small diameter borehole has been created, the contractor applies the adhesive to the underside of the saddle and then snaps it onto the lateral pipe. Once the adhesive cures, it forms a watertight seal with the pipe, and a diamond core saw is then used to cut and remove the crown of the pipe. Finally, the borehole is backfilled, and sod is used to restore the landscaping, leaving the yard virtually untouched.
Homeowner Friendly
Minimal disruption and restoration
Environmentally Friendly
Saves trees and landscaping
Utility Friendly
Vacuum excavation eliminates the potential hazards of digging up buried utility lines such as water and gas
Installer Friendly
No large trench boxes, no shoring, and no man-entry means a safe workplace
VAC-A-TEE allows access to the lateral pipe for cleaning, inspection, and lateral lining through a cleanout.VAC-A-TEE can also be used to establish a new service connection at the mainline pipe. VAC-A-TEE is compatible with all pipe types such as clay, cast iron, concrete, PVC and even HDPE and is available in diameters from 4 to 24 inches.
The lateral pipe is located using a sewer camera and sonde - A vacuum excavated bore hole is made approximately 18” in diameter exposing the buried pipe - All spoils are deposited in the debris tank of the vacuum truck - The exterior of the pipe is cleaned by using a pressure washer - A depth measurement is taken and the riser pipe is solvent welded to the VAC-A-TEE - Then, the engineered adhesive/sealant is applied thoroughly to the underside of the saddle - The assembly is lowered in to the bore hole, the saddle is snapped on to the pipe from above the surface and then backfilled - Once cured, the saddle is hydrostatically tested by filling the riser pipe with water verifying a non-leaking connection - The crown of the pipe is then cut open by inserting a diamond core saw down through the water filled riser pipe - The coupon is removed and the water flushes downstream - The new cleanout is complete allowing access to the upstream or downstream side of the lateral pipe - Now you have a new outside cleanout.
- Vacuum excavation eliminates the potential hazards of digging up buried gas and water utility lines; it minimizes homeowner disruption, with no damage or restoration to landscape.
- Compatible with all pipe types, including clay, cast iron, concrete, PVC and even HDPE.
- The patented snapping design of the saddle and proprietary adhesive/sealant provides a fail-proof, high-strength bond to the host pipe.
- For lateral pipe sizes from four to 24 inches and lateral depths to 20 feet.
- One-piece, full circle and homogenous main and lateral CIPP connection liner with a uniform wall thickness of absorbent textile material that also meets the requirements of ASTM D5813, (Sections 6 and 8), the standard specification for CIPP thermosetting resin sewer pipe.
- Compressible liner material manufactured on the mainsheet provides a smooth tapered transition to the
- host pipe at both the upstream and downstream ends.
- The resin system — corrosion-resistant polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy or silicate resin and catalyst — produces a CIPP that fully complies with ASTM physical and chemical requirements for a 50 plus year design life.
- The liner is impregnated with the resin system under controlled vacuum conditions and inverted through the lateral. Pipe cracks and voids are filled through resin migration,18 inches of the mainline connection is structurally renewed, and the lateral liner can be inverted up to a maximum length of 200 feet.
- Curing is accomplished within two hours at ambient temperature or in as little as 30 minutes with steam.
- The lateral connection utilizes an engineered, molded one-piece, flexible long-term compression gasket sealing system.
- T-Liners may be installed in mainline pipe sizes from six inches to 24 inches in diameter. They can be manufactured in TEE or WYE designs.
- Each liner is permanently marked with a lateral identification label for future reference.
