Dioxins and furans are highly toxic byproducts of various industrial processes. These dangerous compounds have been known to cause several health effects and have been linked to causing cancer.
Tri-Mer’s UltraCat catalytic filter system is the right choice for removing dioxin and furan pollution. The nano-catalyst embedded technology in our filters destroy these compounds with a high-efficiency, typically 97% to 99%.
Optimum dioxin and furan control is limited to an upper temperature of 500°F if there are constituents such as chlorine, fluorine, and other halides that can lead to re-formation of the dioxin. If these have largely been removed upstream in the injection of dry sorbent, permanent dioxin destruction will occur at higher temperatures as well.
