Ultra-Filtration (UF) is a membrane filtration process that operates with pore sizes. Pore diameters of ultrafiltration membranes are in the range of 10 to 200 A (0.001 to 0.02 micron). This filtration technology effectively removes suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, and organic material from water while allowing essential minerals to pass through. Ultrafiltration technology is widely adopted across the water, wastewater, and industrial sectors (e.g. Minimal Liquid Discharge, MLD), often serving as a crucial pre-treatment step to protect reverse osmosis.
