SpiraSep & iSep - Model 500 -Ultrafiltration Membranes For Water & Wastewater Treatment
Sustainable fresh water supplies are diminishing at an unprecedented rate due to increasing populations, agricultural use, and rising industrial demand. Wastewater recycling using ultrafiltration (UF) membranes has become a new and viable water source. Ultrafiltration provides safe, reliable, and high quality effluent that can be used for a multitude of water reuse applications. The utilization of new water sources is also realized due to the high level of pre-treatment ultrafiltration is able to provide for reverse osmosis (RO) systems.
SpiraSep UF technology, developed by TriSep Corporation, was the first ever spiral wound submerged membrane for water and wastewater applications. The SpiraSep UF process utilizes air scouring, backwashing, and negative pressure operation to provide a durable, low fouling format for the most challenging water and wastewater applications. iSep UF elements are the latest evolution in SpiraSep technology that has further enhanced ultrafiltration membrane performance.
Unlike conventional cross flow configurations, water is “pulled” through the membrane using a slight vacuum. Air is bubbled up through the element feed channels actively scouring the membrane surface clean. Periodically the membranes are backwashed to remove any particulate matter from the UF membrane surface.
SpiraSep & iSep UF membranes are:
- The lowest fouling
- The most durable
- The highest performing
The key design features of SpiraSep & iSep UF membranes are active air scouring, backwashing, vacuum operation, and solids purging capabilities. Due to these unique design features, TriSep’s UF membranes have superior low fouling characteristics on high TSS water and wastewater.
SpiraSep & iSep UF elements are available in two different formats: iSep 500 elements, which is an integrated submerged membrane design, and SpiraSep 960 elements, which are a conventional in-tank submerged format.
Effluent quality is tied directly to membrane integrity and is a critical feature when operating RO pre-treatment systems. The rigid, durable design of SpiraSep & iSep UF elements ensures that membrane integrity is not compromised. This guarantees a high effluent quality far exceeding other UF/MF formats. TriSep guarantees that you will never experience a broken fiber with SpiraSep and iSep UF membranes!.
