Vigilex GAS-VENTBESS Degassing System

The GAS-VENT system is engineered specifically for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to manage the critical requirement of degassing and smoke extraction. Designed to remain in a closed state for structural integrity, it opens automatically upon sensing harmful gas or smoke. The unit functions much like the DUAL-VENT® but does not include a feature for explosion protection. It is compatible with a range of sensors capable of detecting smoke, gases, and heat. In the event of a thermal runaway in a battery cell, which can produce dangerous gases and potentially cause a fire or explosion, the system efficiently extracts these gases to minimize safety risks. Once safety parameters are reestablished, the system returns to a sealed state, ensuring containment. It is accompanied by a connection box for simplified installation and integration within existing systems.

The GAS-VENT® was designed and engineered to meet the needs for degassing or smoke extraction in a BESS. This active ventilation system creates natural ventilation when it detects gas or smoke and automatically opens.

Its design mirrors the DUAL-VENT®, but it does not include an explosion protection panel. The system can be paired with various sensors or detection mechanisms for smoke, gas, heat, etc.
