Waste Paper
Collection and processing of waste paper has a long history in our company. The waste paper processing line of high capacity is located in our Maribor business unit. Waste material is sorted first into the new and the old paper. The old paper is further sorted into two sub-categories.
The first sub-category is paper packaging that is gaining in importance and volume from year to year since the packaging waste management schemes were introduced. This is the paper and cardboard that remains at the packaging of finished products or at the transportation of products or fractions. We are faced with this matter every day. Whenever we buy a product we must remove its package in an appropriate way. A large proportion of paper packaging is cardboard packaging.
The second sub-category is the old paper. It is collected by schools and other public institutions, in collection centres and eco islands, by businesses as recycled paper or by citizens who deliver it to our acceptance units. We sort this paper into several categories: newspaper, mixed paper, cardboard etc.
The new paper as a secondary raw material is generated in paper mills and printing plants. We sort it into the chrome paper, clean paper cuts, printing endless blank paper, and paper with plastic additives. Separation at source is very important. It gives us very pure fraction for further processing.
