Electromedia VI - Wastewater Heavy Metal Removal
Electromedia VI is a unique filtration system integrating a special vessel design and a proprietary media. Electromedia VI is a treatment technology developed to ensure that the immediate release of heavy metals to the environment from industry or waste treatment facilities are within acceptable limits.
Electromedia VI is formulated for the filtration of treated and clarified waste water streams containing heavy metal precipitates and suspended solids.
Electromedia VI filtration systems excel in the filtration of difficult metals such as lead, zinc, cadmium and chrome.
Filtronics complete Envirowash backwash/reclaim system can be utilized to guarantee minimum residuals and reduce landfill waste thus helping preserve our precious environment.
Filtronics Electromedia VI provides an effective, economical solution if you are exceeding your discharge limits for lead, zinc, copper, chrome, or other heavy metals.
The content of heavy metals in waste is primarily a consequence of the use of heavy metals in industrial products. At the end of their useful life all products will end up in waste to the extent they are not attractive for recycling. Exposure to heavy metals in waste can have potential harmful effects to humans and the environment. Filtronics has identified 21 heavy metals of concern, the most common include copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), zinc (Zn), chrome (Cr), and cadmium (Cd).
The removal of heavy metals from wastewater streams has become an extremely important field in the last few years. With the enactment of the “Clean Water Act” and its amendments, industry has been required to meet even more stringent levels of water quality in their wastewater.
When suitable water quality is desired for discharge to sewer systems or for recycling purposes, Filtronics will design the proper treatment approach based upon influent quality, economics and space management.
FILTRONICS ELECTROMEDIA VI efficiently filters heavy metal streams of up to 50 ppm to filtrate qualities of less than 5 ppm.
