Weir gate is used to control the flow and to isolate fluids associated with water, wastewater, sewage treatment plants, power generation, irrigation schemes, and process plants. The selection of the Weir gate in accordance with its duty is important to satisfy the design criteria and to provide the most cost-effective solution. The size ranges from 150 mm to 2000 mm. It can be a rectangular, circular, or square section. Operation of the gate can be simple direct operation by use of a handwheel or complex control system for electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuation. It is available in both flush bottom and conventional bottom configurations.
