Air Pollution Modelling Services
Application of state-of-the-art modelling systems including WRFChem, FLEXPART and others to provide the most suitable and reliable products to clients. Areas covered range from mining, heavy Industry, power plants, urban pollution. ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Atmospheric production, transport and deposition o...
Atmospheric production, transport and deposition of natural and/or anthropogenic pollutants can be simulated to assess the impact on the environment and humans. This includes typical species like CO2 , NOs, etc. and desert dust particles.
Models can be applied operationally to track particles, monitor ambient air pollution, notify stakeholders on potential hazards and support decision making measures/policies.
Various scenarios and hypothetical situations can be tested under different emission rates and weather conditions for advance preparation and planning of operations.
Numerical systems can support insitu and remote sensing operations and vice-versa, providing fully integrated solutions for monitoring PM pollution.

Test Case: A severe desert dust episode affecting the island of Crete on the 18 th of March 2018, due to typical wind patterns over the Mediterranean Sea. Using WRF Chem the episode was successfully reproduced. This tool can be useful to public and health authorities for planning and advance preparation and can be part of a general ‘early warning system’ in conjunction with local authorities.
