Architectural Acoustics (comprises of both building & interior acoustics) is the science and engineering of understanding and controlling of noise transmission from a building’s envelope to interior spaces and vice versa. Architectural acoustics analyses the relationship between architecture, design and the aural environment and how buildings can mediate between these elements to mitigate the effects of noise nuisance which can have negative effects on productivity, health, wellbeing and quality of life.
